I thought the calamari was perfectly deep-fried the bits tasted tender without being rubbery, which was a huge plus in my book.
Im not exactly sure whats in the breading, but I loved that it tasted pretty light. It made the deep-fried dish taste more delicate and sophisticated instead of heavy.
At $11.99 this appetizer was pricier than most of the other offerings so Im not sure its worth that much unless youre a big fan of calamari and you dont want an appetizer thats too heavy.

Ive made this copycat olive garden soup many times, typically the day after we have a chicken dinner with mashed potatoes. .
This dramatically cuts down on the time involved with the soup, since the chicken and potatoes are already precooked. Creamy chicken and gnocchi soup goes over much better in my house than leftover chicken and mashed potatoes.
I use a cup or two of mashed potatoes whatever I have handy. Then I add an egg and enough flour to make a stiff dough. These little dumplings are a little more dense than the original gnocchi, but just as tasty.
You can also use leftover grocery store rotisserie chicken, or boneless chicken breast or thighs. Just make sure your chicken is cooked before you add the carrots, celery and spinach.

- Next stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Once the sauce and tomatoes are added, press cancel.

Back in November of 2011, I shared the recipe for my favorite soup ever, Olive Gardens Zuppa Toscana soup. It went bananas and has since been one of the most popular recipes on my site. Its a recipe that I make at least once a month and more like once a week during the winter. My whole family loves it and you guys do too!
After numerous requests, I shared a slow cooker version of the soup in 2014. That version has also been insanely popular and well-loved by my readers.
Here we are in 2017, and I am now sharing a one pot version that makes this soup so simple and easy, youre going to make it more than ever. Instead of baking the bacon and browning the sausage in the oven, everything is done in one pot. I used my new dutch oven that my Dad got me for Christmas! I love how all the drippings from the sausage and bacon add so much flavor to the soup! Its fantastic!
I also doubled the amount of kale. For some reason, my boys think this is the best part of the soup Who am I to argue? I love buying the pre-chopped kale to make things easy. I also use a mandoline for slicing the potatoes. It takes about one minute to have them all perfectly and uniformly sliced.
I add a bit of crushed red pepper flakes to the soup as well as a bit of salt and pepper. Totally optional. The soup already has a lot of salt from the bacon and heat from the spicy Italian sausage so feel free to omit if youd like.

This Olive Garden Copycat recipe has been on my list of soups to make for a few years now. I love all of Olive Gardens Soups but their Chicken Gnocchi soup is awesome. The best part is that it is so easy to make! It comes together in less than 20 minutes.
- Butter: Use the butter to make the roux.
- Olive oil: Add to the pan with the butter onion and celery and garlic.
- Onion:I keep frozen diced onion in my freezer so that I can easily add it to any dish.
- Celery: Diced celery gives this soup a great crunch and fresh flavor.
- Garlic cloves:Minced garlic adds a deep Italian flavor.
- All-purpose flour: The flour makes a roux which gives the soup its consistency.
- Half-and-half: The creaminess of this soup.
- Chicken broth: Add as much as you like depending on how thin you like your soup. For a thinner soup use more broth.
- Fresh thyme: Earthy and a little bit sweet, with a slightly minty
- Shredded carrots: I love the sweet flavor the carrots add!
- Spinach leaves: Chopped so that you dont have big pieces in your spoonful.
- Chicken breast: Diced and cooked chicken. Cut into pieces before cooking so it will cook quicker. Cook it in a little bit of olive oil until its just done. Add a little salt and pepper to it if you like.
